Research Networks

PSU has policies to support the university’s researches and
create new researchers in graduate program. By designing theses topics, the university ensures that knowledge from the researches or innovations are in accordance with the university’s strategy, practical in solving community or social issues and responding to the vision to develop a complete research-oriented university.

Therefore, the university together with its faculties/organizations and all campuses
facilitate collaborations among researchers, who are working in the same or similar fields, in order to form a research network, which is divided into 4 categories:

1. Discipline of Excellence (DoE)

must be a department, faculty or a graduate program that has: a particular specialty; faculty members or researchers have achievements or products that are not only strengthening the organization itself but also accepted by international academic circle; produces MAs-Ph.D. level graduates and proves the sustainability of the department. 2. Center of Excellence (CoE)

must be a group of 5 or more specialized researchers whose work have been published in international publications. The group must have a goal to achieve excellence in their fields, produce work or products that helps develop the country and are published in international publications, create innovations that receive intellectual property licensing or have practical use, create new researchers and support theses endeavor by graduate students. The Center receives a grant from external sources for 2 million Baths/year, no more than 5 years. ...

3. Research Center (RC)

must be a group of 5 or more specialized researchers who are determined and have clear planning to conduct a research in a field, produce results or products that would help develop the country or be published in publications, create innovations that receive licensing of intellectual property or have practical use, create new researchers and has a relationship with a graduate program. The support grant is up to 1 million Baths/year, for no more than 5 years.

4. Research Unit (RU)

is a group of 2-5 researchers who are determined to and have a clear vision on conducting a research in one particular field to achieve a common goal. The group must creating new researchers and build connection with a graduate program. A grant of 200,00 Baths/year, for no more than 3 years to a research unit with a potential to develop into a research center.
