PSU RDO congratulates Professor Dr. Saowapa Angsupanich, of PSU Marine and Costal Resources Institute, for being honored as Quality Person of the Year 2018 in science by Foundation of Science and Technology Council of Thailand (FSTT), Ministry of Science and Technology.
Ms. Kwunrudee Wuttichokmonkolkul and Ms. Paweena Songmuang, students of Department of Material and Packaging Technology at the Faculty of Agro-Industry of PSU, won AsiaStar Packaing Award 2018 (Asia) which was organized by Asian Packaging Federation (APF), Tokyo, Japan. The event took place from September 29th to October 4th of 2018.
PSU congratulates Dr. Pharmacist Ruttapol Sritharadol, Ph.D. candidate of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, as his work titled “Development of a topical mupirocin spray for antibacterial and wound-healing applications,” received the EUDRAGIT® Award 2017.
“SPARK STSP Innovation Fair 2018 gateway to business innovation 4.0” took place on April 27th 2018 at Central Festival Hat Yai, organized by Prince of Songkla University Science Park. The Fair showed off an exhibition about the Science Park’s services as well as basic structure such as current research areas and future projects, over 100 innovations, and over 60 vendors of entrepreneurs and partner organizations. In addition, there were conferences and other interesting lectures and discussion.
Faculty of Natural Resources, PSU, initiated hi-tech farming as agricultural tourism to attract new generation to pay attention to agriculture. The farm is equipped with automatic water and fertilizer feature controlled via phone app, in line with the vision and policy of Thailand 4.0.
Professor Virasakdi Chongsuvivatwong, Epidemiology Unit, Faculty of Medicine, received Somdej Phra Wannarat award 2017 from the Medical Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronageon on January 20th of 2018.
Professor Virasakdi Chongsuvivatwong is a physician and an epidemiologist who has used his knowledge to serve the community for over 40 years. He worked as a rural doctor prior to teaching and conducting well-published research at PSU. During the rise of Southern border conflict in Thailand, he helped treat victims of violence and fostered cooperation from both sides to restore peace.
PSU Faculty of Medicine and National Science and technology Development Agency (NSTDA) announced first-of-in-the-world computerized x-ray machine, MiniiScan, to detect scope of breast lump in operation room. This unique machine helps the patient receive the needed surgery faster and with increased safety.
RDO congratulates Professor Dr. Jessada Wananasin for receiving “Top 7 Innovation Awards 2018” at “Thailand Synergy Forum for SMEs” on March 8th at Pirut Hall, Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC).
Eight of PSU researches received total of 10 awards at “The 46th International Exhibition of Invention Geneva” in Geneva, Switzerland. The ten awards included 1 gold medal, 6 silver 1 bronze, and 2 special prizes. The Invention took place during the 11th to 15th of April this year. Prof.Sirirurg Songsivilai, M.D., Secretary of NRCT, presented the awards.
